Express Yourself

“Sikkim University has been a total different experience. I have been able to develop my knowledge bank with the help of my teachers. The lecturers are very nice and there is no gap between us, they are very friendly in nature and treat us as their siblings and always guide us. Each teacher is different from the other and each one comes out with his own and unique teaching technique to make us understand our subject properly. The semester system of the University is very good and it is very new for me but because of this I have built a reading habit.”

Tshering Choden Bhutia, Third semester, MA Sociology, Department of Social Systems and Anthropology, Sikkim University

“This is the first time I have seen any Educational institution giving so much importance to the voice of the parents.“I have noticed in my son Chewang Dorjee Sherpa, student of third semester, Department of Social Systems and Anthropology after he joined Sikkim University. Now I see him studying every day. He always has new things to share with me and keeps talking about the semester system and how it is easy to score more marks because there is a lot of internal evaluation. I noticed his sincerity towards going to the University; he now does not want to miss even a single class. He has really improved in his behavior and attitude towards life, his approach is more focused and his concentration has tremendously improved.”

Tashi Sherpa, Upper Syari, Gangtok, Father of Chewang Dorjee Sherpa, Third Semester, MA Sociology

Ujaagar was appearing for his final university examination. He took his seat in the examination hall, started at the question paper for five minutes, and then in a fit of inspiration took his shoes off and threw them out of the window. He then removed his turban and threw it away as well. His shirt, trousers, socks, and watch followed suit. The invigilator, alarmed, approached him and askded what was going on. 'Oye, I am following the instructions yaar,' replied Ujaagar, 'it says here, "answer the questions in brief".
