SIKKIM UNIVERSITY, had advertised Appointment Notice for Regular Teaching Positions vide no. SU/Advt/2010-11, dated 29th April 2010.meanwhile, the UGC has changed the norms for appointment of Associate Professor. According to the revised UGC notification 2010, vide no. F.3-1/2009, dated 30th June, 2010, minimum teaching and/or research experience required to apply the post of an Associate Professor has been increased from 5 years to 8 years excluding the period of Ph. D. Research. This 8 years of teaching and/or research experience should be academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or accredited research institution/industry. Other essential and desirable qualification shall remain the same. The qualifications and eligibility conditions for the posts of Assistant Professor and Professor remain the same as mentioned in the aforementioned SIKKIM UNIVERSITY advertisement.

Candidates who have applied for the post of an Associate Professor as per the aforementioned advertisement and not fulfilling aforementioned eligibility conditions may be considered only for the post Assistant Professor in the respective disciplines they have applied for provided they fulfill other requisite qualifications, no fresh application shall be entertained.
